Transparencia Radical (Es)
Radical Transparency (En)
An article written for “Cuadernos de Arte” on the weirdness of receiving viral images on instagram that look like your work. After making fun of myself and the muted gestures of social media the text transitions towards analizing the environmental situation of creating within a digital culture: where novelties become apps and new ideas fade inevitably into filters. These context might imply different conditions for authorship: the first of which might be about appearing to be radically transparent or “open” as in some works by Ed Adkins and Cory Arcangel -to name a few well established artists-, but also and perhaps more importantly in the work of artists that use social media to show their work based on traditional media.
¿perhaps both are connected by the need to perform authenticity?
